from solo developer Gionathan Pesaresi aka Neutronized. It’s a top-down roguelike where you’ll travel from room to room in tiny randomized dungeons clearing out all the enemies in each one. The catch is that you don’t really have a weapon of your own, but you sure can kick things real good, so the way you take out enemies is by kicking boxes or vases or whatever into them. It ends up feeling like a spin on the Bomberman formula as you wait for an enemy to get into that perfect position for you to take them out, or take a more proactive approach and set up the level obstacles in a way that traps them in a dangerous spot. Check out the trailer.

As you progress, the dungeons get bigger and more complex, and each one ends with a fight against a huge boss. You’ll also run into shops in each dungeon where you’ll be able to pick from a selection of different power-ups and special items to help you along your way. Also, Yokai Dungeon features 20 different heroes to unlock and play with, each with their own unique set of stats that change up how you play. It really is a great little game for busting out and playing for a few minutes at a time, and you always feel like you’re making some sort of progress towards some cool new unlock or towards the next dungeon. Best of all is that it’s free to download and play to your heart’s content if you can deal with ads, and if you can’t, you can remove them for a one-time IAP. So there’s no reason not to check out Yokai Dungeon for yourself, and then
