for 1.7x faster performance, but it hasn’t specified which ones. Currently, the latest ARM CPU cores are the Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720, and Cortex-A520. The new Exynos Auto chip also features support for LPDDR5 DRAM.

Thanks to a beefier GPU that is twice as fast as the previous-generation Exynos Auto chip, the Exynos Auto V920 can drive up to six high-resolution displays in a car. That can be a combination of the central infotainment screen and the DIC (Digital Instrument Cluster) on the front and four additional infotainment screens for passengers on the rear. It also supports up to 12 camera sensors that capture information for ADAS and autonomous driving features.

It also features a 2.7x faster NPU (Neural Processing Unit). NPU is used to recognize objects from the camera feeds to support advanced driving assistance features. It features built-in support for 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C connectivity. The chip is ASIL-B (Automotive Safety Integrity Level B) compliant, an essential feature in the automotive segment.

Jae Geol Pyee, Executive VP of Sales & Marketing, System LSI, said, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Hyundai Motor, a prominent global mobility manufacturer, and we anticipate that this partnership will further solidify our position in the automotive infotainment space. Through close collaboration with our global customers and ecosystem partners, we will continue to create state-of-the-art automotive chip solutions that offer a safe and enjoyable mobility experience.
