, Stephan Somogyi from Google dropped an interesting statistic on us — since the launch of the Nexus 6P and 5X, 90% of Nexus users have a secure lock screen on their phone.


Prior to the launch of these phones, secure lock screen usage was only hovering at about 50% amongst Nexus users, despite features like Smart lock that hoped to entice the use of a secure lock screen while keeping the simplicity of having your phone unlock with a swipe in some situations. Such a dramatic bump up to 90% secure lock screen usage isn't entirely surprising considering how easy the Nexus 6P and 5X fingerprint sensors are to use, but the quick change in user behavior is fantastic to see.
