Altair Flux 2019.1.1 HotFix | 158.1 mb
The leading software for low frequency electromagnetic and thermal simulation, Flux, now a part of the Altair HyperWorks simulation platform, has released an hotfix to Flux 2019.1.0. This update includes fixes to various user-reported issues from the previous release, providing an overall more stable experience.

FX-13487 Error when importing a 2D geometry into a 3D project when curve linesexists.It is impossible to extrude in the modeler a face imported in a 2D CAD.Now, after a 2D CAD import (in the modeler mandatory), the user canextrude (in the modeler mandatory) one or several faces (if these facesare plane and in the same plane), these selected faces are extruded. A sketchis automatically created, and all faces in this same plane are integrated tothis sketch. The user can add other faces of this sketch in the same extrusionor another extrusion like the classical life cycle of a sketch in the modeler.
FX-11656 Problem of assignment of mesh lines with "deviation type" to lines withsegment type. The user can assign manually a deviation mesh line on asegment without error message or warning. The deviation type is only for arclines.Now a warning is returned if the user try to assign a deviation mesh line on asegment line.
FX-13562 Error when I have multiple mesh importFlux is now able to import a large number of mesh files sequentially (i.e.,with the help of a Python script). A dynamic memory allocation error thatprevented Flux from performing such a task has been corrected.
FX-13537 In Flux 3D, When I try to solve a Flux project with thin conducting region Iget an error message.
FX-12781 Mesh import of surfaces and volume is not correct
FX-13307 Error importing .bdf mesh files in Flux 2019.1
FX-13276 FX-13655 An issue that prevented Flux from taking into account different slip values inmulti-parametric simulations of rotating electric machines was solved. In thecase of a parameterized slip, iron losses are now correctly evaluated for eachstep in the slip variation range.
FX-13259 Fixed an issue that resulted in a wrong evaluation of the magnetic lossesin projects involving rotating electric machines operating with negative slip values. The losses computed in a material using the Bertotti model are nolonger affected by the parity of the coefficients and exponents in the model.
FX-13592 The range of parameters "a" (shape parameter for anhystereticmagnetization) and "k" (pinning coefficient) occurring in the Jiles-Athertonmodel of isotropic hysteretic magnetic materials is no longer constrained byan upper bound. Values exceeding the ancient limit of 10000 A/m are nowadmitted by Flux.
FX-10028 FX-10943 FX-12375 Solved an issue affecting the exhibition of the remanent magnetization ofpermanent magnets with the command 'Physics > Display arrows on magnet.'The remanent magnetization orientation is no longer changed unintentionally by commands such as 'Physics > Check Physics,' 'Solving > Delete Results'and 'Solving > Solve'.
FX-12061 Corrected an issue causing Flux projects containing coil conductors withnon-uniform cross-sections to crash during resolution, even after passinga successful 'Check Physics' test. 'Check Physics' now displays an errormessage in the case of coil conductors with non-uniform cross-sections.
FX-13306 In a 3D project with Flux 2019.1, the solving time with A-V formulationis much faster overall. But the pre-computations are higher with A-Vformulation because pre-computations are done at each step, as shownbelow, unlike T-Phi formulation where the pre-computations are done onlyonce. Now, the pre-computations for A-V formulation are only done in the first stepand then reused for the following steps.
FX-12069 In this project the automatic formulation used for the region creuset (solidconductor) is not correct. An error in the automatic choice and assignment of the appropriate FiniteElement formulation to multiply-connected domains (i.e., devices containing'holes') was solved.
FX-13566 In 3D Magneto-thermal, there is no possibility to assign AV formulation onregionWhen you chose the application "Steady State AC Magnetic coupled withTransient Thermal 3D", and the formulation model "Magnetic vector potentialformulations", you could not choose a formulation in the volume region.Now, you can choose a formulation in the volume region.
FX-13444 with steady state AC project it is not possible to activate the partial storagedirectly when the scenario is createdIf the user create a new scenario in this project with a variation of theparameter frequency from 50 to 100 and with 10steps, if the user directlycheck the case Do not store results in the tab results storage, Thee user isnot able to create the scenario, an error message appears.
FX-13593 The saving protocol of Flux projects has been improved to avoid conflicts withthird-party applications such as anti-virus software.
FX-12756 FX-13421 Set Mumps options in the case of without tree gaugeOn projects that have issues with the tree gauge algorithm, we used torecommend to use iterative solver (ICCG) to solve projects correctly. Sincethis Flux 2019.1.1 version one can now benefit from the performance of MUMPS on that kind of projects. For that, one need to select direct solver(or MUMPS solver in advanced mode) in the tab "Linear system solver", and"Method without tree gauge" in the tab "Advanced" of the solving processoptions.
FX-13019 Flux cannot open a project with a distributed parametric scenario located in afolder with space
FX-12434 Space in folder name causes error linked with CDE
FX-13189 FX-13430 Impossible to run computation with coil conductor region with losses onHWUL-VAOn PBS cloud or HWUL-VA, if there are region "coil conductor with losses"there are crash.Now, you can solve a project with coil conductor region with losses on HWUL-VA or PBS cloud.
FX-10399 Bug when editing an entity containing an evolutive pathWhen creating a data collection using an evolutive path, the chosen valuesare graphically reseted to zero when re editing the data collection.In the data base, the values are well kept.
FX-12334 Entity Chemin_evol defining an interval must be readable when editing anexisting entityWhen editing an entity using a chemin_evol as an attribute defining aninterval, the GUI component is not able to display the correct boundaries ofthe stored interval.Note that the pyFlux command shows that the right boundaries are correctlystored in the database.
FX-13292 In multiphysics co-simulations with Activate, Flux is now able to managetime steps as small as 1E-14 seconds, which are eventually generated byActivate's LSODA solver.
FX-12266 Export in XML not availableNow the generic command of XML Export has been available
FX-13578 Bad management of error case with the macroCreateVolumeFromFaceAndPointsNow the macro has been updated and works correctly.
FX-13422 It exists the word "Volume" in a label in Flux 2D in the "Complete InfiniteBox" dialog boxThere I any distinction between Flux 2D or Flux 3D.Now the label is adapted following the dimension
FX-12839 Improve the label about "Working directory" in each dialog box of generationof coupling componentThe label for the field "Directory to save component" has been enriched by:"Directory to save component (working directory if empty)" to accuratethat if the field is empty, the current working directory is taken into account.The improvement is now visible in all coupling components :
* Flux and Activate
* Flux and HyperStudy
* Flux and E-Machine Toolbox
* Flux and Simulink
* Flux and Got-It
* Flux and Portunus
FX-13110 FX-13111 FX-13343 The Import/Export context in Flux Skew was upgraded with multipleimprovements. In particular, the processing time required to importmechanical meshes into a Flux project and the computation time needed toevaluate magnetic forces have been significantly reduced.
FX-13250 FX-13344 FX-13347 The error in the evaluation of quantities arising from the computation ofintegrals on supports (e.g., the Laplace force) that affected Flux versions2019.0.1 and 2019.1 while using the Import/Export context has beenrepaired. To take profit of the correction provided by the 2019.1.1 hotfix,the user must create the computation supports again in the Import/Exportcontext and repeat the force evaluation. Computations on supports createdwith previous Flux versions must be avoided because the results yielded couldstill be wrong.
