Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. I’m not going to lie to you all: this time of the year is usually slow for updates because developers are really busy with other things. Thus, we’ve got a lot of the usual suspects filling out the ranks this week. Some of them are pretty interesting, though. Better than reading the back of the cereal box, if nothing else. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself using AppShopper or by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!

If you are enjoying Another Eden, you might enjoy having another Another Eden stage. Yes, it’s another Another Eden update that adds another stage. Another. This time the stage is called Fortune: Phantom Crystal Dimension and it features characters with healing abilities. Mariel, Prai, Pom, and Krevro can all appear in this stage. You’ll need a White Key to access it, which can be earned occasionally when completing Another Dungeon. The farther into the Phantom Crystal Dimension you go, the greater the rewards will be.

Wow, there sure are a lot of Hatsune Miku cross-overs happening lately. The newest one is BanG Dream!, and if nothing else you have to admit that Miku fits the game like a glove. The main thrust of this collaboration involves cover versions of three of Hatsune Miku’s songs: Lost One’s Weeping, Alien Alien, and Romeo & Cinderella. If you can’t get enough of Miku, you’ll definitely want to check this update out. Owata!

Well, here’s a game that is exceedingly unlikely to get an official Hatsune Miku collaboration anytime soon. But at least it’s still getting updated now and then to keep it from breaking. This latest version is going to be the world to some of you and meaningless to others, but that’s how it goes. What you get here is full screen support on iPhone X series devices and the iPad Pro. There are also some bug fixes and other improvements.

Adding playable characters to Contest of Champions takes a bit more work than adding them to some other Marvel games, so it’s perhaps understandable that the game is still slowly adding in the Fantastic Four. The latest member to appear is, ironically enough, Susan Richards. Because she’s the Invisible Woman, you see, so you’d expect her not to appear. Look, I’m tired. But Sue is here, and naturally Namor isn’t far behind her. Creepy guy. And since Reed isn’t in the game yet, he’s making yet another move on Susan. Anyway, lots of new maps in various modes to play, so get on in there and make with the punchy-punch. I’ll give this game the coveted UMMSotW award because I really like the Fantastic Four.

Elder Scrolls: Blades got a really big update today that was somewhat timed with Bethesda’s E3 conference. The game is going to be coming to Switch in the fall, and apparently that version will let you bring over your progress from the mobile one, so that’s a thing. This update adds a new Dragon quest line, puts some skill-boosting jewelry into the game, improves jobs and solo arena battles, tosses in voices for town NPCs and in major Quests, and makes the skull ratings more accurate. This will be of great comfort to all four people still playing this clunker.

I’m pretty sure I can guess where this game’s focus is going to be about a month from now, but what is it up to until then? Concerts, apparently. No really, there’s a new Concert Hall where you can listen to classic tunes from the series. You can now save your Aether Raids map set-ups, and the Hero Merit limit has been raised to 6,000. Some new summoning events have been added to the weekly rotation, and a brand new mode called Rokkr Sieges will be made available next week. In other words, this is still a pretty lively game even with a few years behind it, and with a new mainline installment coming very soon, it’s likely to keep on kicking for a long time to come.

The kids are off to a new location, and this time it’s the highly-decadent Dubai. Okay, I know it’s just a game, but if this were real life these kids would be in an awful lot of trouble here. So let’s just enjoy the fiction, where girls in midriff-baring tanktops can surf the sandy tracks and navigate through the massive buildings without breaking any social norms. You can try to add the Turbo Team to your crew, Kareem and Ace. Kareem can also score some special Dubai duds. There are two new boards available, the Desert Racer and the Diablo. Join in the Weekly Hunt and you can unlock some nice rewards. And that’s the lot!

Apparently the big to-do in Homescapes this update is the birthday of a fellow named William. This mid-June event sees you beating levels to earn stickers which can in turn be exchanged for some cool decorations for your garden. If you can collect all of the decorations, you’ll get a car-shaped flowerbed as a bonus gift. The other part of this update involves a Paper Plane Generator. We had one of those in my fifth grade class. His name was Shawn Crawford. But the one in this game is not a False Shaun but rather a power-up generating machine that keeps working as long as you keep winning. Neat. The new gameplay gimmick is the Phone. Make matches near it to answer it and stop its incessant ringing.

Sometimes I need to include a popular game in here, but the update notes are so sparse that it’s tough to pull a paragraph out of it. That usually isn’t a problem with Fortnite, but here we are. What you get in this update is a cool new item called the Storm Flip. When you use it in the Safe Zone, you’ll create a Storm Zone. And if you use it in the Storm Zone? Safe Zone. Yes, you can be a Weather Wizard if you have this item. Imagine the raw power of calling down the storm itself, like you’re some kind of Thor-like deity. Yes, that should do.

Yeah, that’s right, I’m crossing the streams. Homescapes and Matchington Mansion in the same article. Cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria. This update adds another 30 or so levels, a new room in the form of the Flower Shop, and a new gameplay element. The game will also be running a Father’s Day sale from the 12th to the 16th in case you are silly enough to spend money on this nonsense. You can also look forward to some lovely bug fixes, because that’s what updates are really about most of the time.

That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
