Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. It’s a nice mix of popular free-to-play games and a few cool paid titles this time around, so hopefully everyone can find at least one game in the mix that they enjoy. Lots of the usual bunch, naturally, but that’s how this tends to go of late. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself using AppShopper or by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!

A small but strong update to the rather enjoyable King Rabbit – Classic. What can you look forward to in this version? Well, the game now automatically resumes the level you were playing when you finished your last session, and that’s actually really great. I wish every iOS game did that. There are also five new character skins, for those who like to skin their rabbit in a variety of ways. Finally, an ad network was removed because it was serving ads that were not appropriate for kids. Stock trading advice and wine-tasting kits, no doubt.

The big version 1.5 update has finally arrived, and it’s got a lot of stuff in it for players to check out. The first volume of the new story has been added, along with a new map and some new background music. Suzette (Another Style) is now able to be encountered, and a couple of the older encounters have been updated. A number of errors, bugs, and typographical mistakes have been fixed with this update as well. The bulk of it involves the new story content though, so do enjoy it. I like this game so I’ll give it this week’s coveted UMMSotW award.

Knives Out seems like it’s pretty dead in the West, but it still enjoys quite a bit of popularity in a number of countries, fueling nifty little updates like this one. Season 6 has kicked off, bringing with it the new Master tier that sits comfortably between Diamond and Challenger. The game’s new Mentoring system is now live, allowing higher ranked players to take newer ones under their wing and help them out. This update also adds the new 50v50 mode, which is pretty much what it says on the tin. One hundred players, two teams, total chaos. Sounds fun.

We’re sitting on the eve of the new expansion for Hearthstone, and wouldn’t you know it? This update is mostly about preparing for it. Saviors of Uldum will go live on August 6th, and this version is what you need to get prepared for it. There will be 135 new cards, a new keyword and lots of interesting new mechanics, and a whole lot more. I’ll leave the details to someone more knowledgeable than I, though. This is just your reminder to go ahead and hit that little update button in preparation.

I still don’t know exactly how I feel about the updated DOOM on iOS. On the one hand, the old version was probably never getting updated itself, with John Carmack having departed id Software and presumably most things DOOM. So it’s better to have any version rather than none at all. On the other hand, this is a worse version in almost every regard. Oh well, it works with your 64-bit iOS devices, and it’s not Saturn-DOOM bad or anything, so I guess I won’t gripe. Its first post-release update made the Bethesda Account login optional, which is good.

Mmm, it’s time once again for the portion of the article where we look at a cookie-cutter puzzle game and its update. This week, it’s Toon Blast. As usual, it’s fifty new levels to match your way through and hope the luck gods bless you. The context this time is that the toons are jumping out of an airplane or something? Skydiving? I have no idea what it’s on about and I can almost guarantee there’s nothing actually in the game about this. But hey, fifty more levels of Toon Blast.

Fortnite seemed like it was starting to cool off a little, but this new update showed up and now everyone’s back on it again. Season X has arrived, and I’m pretty sure that’s the number ten and not the “Wolverine and the _-Men" thing. There’s a new Battle Pass with 100 levels and 100 rewards, a freaking two-person mech suit called the B.R.U.T.E., and some tune-ups to the Auto-Fire feature for every weapon. Yeah, I could see how a robot suit would bring people back. Hard to find anyone that hates robot suits.

I always forget about this game’s existence, but I guess it’s still trundling along just fine. Most of the character updates naturally tie in with whatever Disney movies the company is looking to promote, and right now that means The Lion King. Thankfully, the characters in question are drawn from the original hand-drawn animated version as opposed to the modern CG movie. This update adds Timon and Pumbaa, following up on the addition of Rafiki earlier this month. The new sign-in hero for August is Peter Pan, so make sure you play every day to add him to your roster.

Guns of Glory remains quite popular, as near as I can tell. There’s no shortage of people who dislike it, but it certainly isn’t causing its popularity to fall yet. The new update makes a few small additions, including a new Guard Weapon, a couple of new paths for Guard Expeditions, and a whole bunch of optimizations. Some exchange conditions have changed in the Expedition Shop, some rewards have changed, and a few other little tweaks have been made. That’s pretty much the lot.

A new update for CSR Racing 2 brings new cars and a new event most of the time, and this one is no exception. Specifically, the new cars include the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster Launch Edition, the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC Drago Viola Edition, and the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta. The new event, perhaps surprising no one, is connected to Pagani. The Pagani World Premiere celebrates the addition of these cars with an 80 race ladder and a time attack leaderboard where you can win the Barchetta.

That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
