Unreal Engine 5 is set to arrive in a preview in early 2021 with a full release in late 2021. Unreal Engine 5 will support iOS, Android, PC, macOS, current generation consoles, and next generation consoles. Epic Games will also migrate Fortnite to Unreal Engine 5 in the middle of 2021. The game will also hit PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch hopefully continuing its full cross platform play. The video below highlights the features coming in Unreal Engine 5:

In addition to Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games also launches the Epic Online Services. This brings matchmaking, lobbies, achievements, accounts, and more built for Fortnite to all developers in free SDK. This was revealed earlier and it has finally launched. The final bit of news is that the Unreal Engine royalties have been waived on the first $1 million in revenue. This will retroactively apply to January 1st 2020. It is going to be interesting to see more Unreal Engine games arrive on newer iOS hardware in the future.
