Samsung recently brought two new features from the Galaxy Note 7 to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge , and the company is now pushing out the same update to consumers in India. The update also improves performance in games that utilize the Vulkan API and the response of the touch screen. Power consumption improvements are also on-board thanks to optimization to Smart Manager. A couple of bug fixes are included as well, with a fix for the flashlight/torch not working properly and for problematic cover recognition. These fixes weren’t present in the update for Italy, which means they do not affect all variants. Oh, and before we forget, the update also brings the security fixes for the month of July, bringing the security patch version up to August 1 on both the S7 and S7 edge.
Your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge should be able to download the update when you hit the Download updates manually button in the Settings » About device menu. If you can wait, it should show up on its own in a day or two if your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
