The next-gen Samsung flip phones were spotted at the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website carrying model numbers SM-F731B (Galaxy Z Flip 5) and SM-F946B/DS (Galaxy Z Fold 5). What can you expect from the next-gen Samsung foldable phones?​


In terms of hardware specifications, the model numbers spotted online at BIS confirm two minor details. Namely, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have full-fledged dual-SIM support, whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will not — although similar to the Z Flip 4, we suspect that the upcoming flip phone will support dual-SIM if one is registered as an virtual eSIM.

Other than this SIM configuration detail, BIS doesn’t reveal much else. But based on prior rumors and leaks, the two foldable phones should be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. That’s true for India and every other market, as there won’t be a divide between Qualcomm and Exynos SoCs. Every Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 will be powered by Qualcomm.
