As revealed by a recent SEC filing, Google CEO was awarded the equivalent of $199 million in stock. Pichai's total Alphabet holdings now come in at around $650 million. As noted by , which first reported on the filing, the recently-awarded shares will vest incrementally through 2019, as long as Pichai stays on the job.
Pichai was in August of 2015 after it was announced that the company would become a subsidiary of the newly-formed Alphabet. While the recent stock awards certainly don't make him as wealthy as Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, as notes, Pichai is now the highest paid CEO in the U.S..
In addition to Pichai's award, it was revealed that Alphabet CFO Ruth Porat was awarded shares worth around $38 million, while Google's cloud chief, Diane Greene, was awarded around $42.8m worth of shares.
