1. Lenovo Chromebook C340: Best Overall

The Lenovo Chromebook C340 currently sits atop our Best Chromebooks as the best overall option, and for good reason. You'll get various storage and RAM options, starting at 4GB/32GB and going up to 8GB/64GB. With the near 10 hours of battery life, the C340 will last you through the day and much longer without much of a hiccup.

While the display does not sport a high resolution (coming in at just 1366 x 768 pixels), Lenovo opted to make this a convertible, with a hinge capable of rotating it back to use as a tablet. As for connectivity, you'll find a USB-A port, USB-C port, along with a full-size SD card slot for those who need either manage their photos or add some extra storage. Best of all, the C340 is slated for almost seven years of Chrome updates thanks to the N4000 chipset.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, having a display under 12-inches may be problematic for some. But that can easily be remedied with either a USB-C external monitor or plugging the C340 into a more traditional monitor at your desk. The only other problem with the C340 is the fact that it's so popular that it is constantly going in and out of stock, especially the 64GB variant.

Pros:

  • Up to 8GB of RAM
  • Almost 10-hours of battery life
  • Guaranteed updates until 2026
  • Convertible display
Cons:

  • Display is not 1080p
  • Screen might be small for some

The best Chromebook for just about anyone

Lenovo's Chromebook C340 checks many of the right boxes, giving users great performance, long battery, and a convertible display.

2. Lenovo C340-15: Upgrade Pick

Those wanting a larger screened Chromebook will want to apply here. The Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C340-15 sports a 15-inch FHD display, with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. While 64GB is okay enough for a smartphone, you'll likely want to take advantage of the microSD card slot built into the C340-15 to up the ante a bit.

Many have come to expect some added versatility with Chromebooks and hinged/reversible displays and that's what you'll find with the C340-15. You can flip the display backwards, and use the C340-15 in a media mode, but you will have to worry about the keyboard being placed face down on the table or surface.

Lenovo also made the wise decision to include multiple USB-C ports, along with USB-A and even an HDMI port. As for battery life, the C340-15 is rated for up to 10-hours of juice before you'll need to find a plug. We would have liked to see Bluetooth 5.0 onboard, but the Bluetooth 4.2 standard should be sufficient enough for your headphones or other peripherals.

Pros:

  • MicroSD card expansion
  • Multiple storage options available
  • Hinged, touchscreen display
  • Two USB-C Ports
Cons:

  • Only one RAM option available
  • Largest storage option limited to 64GB
  • Bluetooth 4.2

The Lenovo C340-15 packs an impressive punch with up to 64GB of storage and a reversible touchscreen display.

3. Lenovo Chromebook Duet: Best for a tablet

Chrome OS on a strictly-tablet form factor has been in the works for years with some companies providing half-hearted attempts. The Chromebook Duet is finally here and largely fills the void of smaller devices with the benefit of having both Chrome OS and the Google Play Store.

This 10.1-inch tablet sports 4GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and a 7,000mAh battery rated for up to 10 hours. This paired with the included keyboard cover, and the Duet is a homerun for just about anyone who wants a new tablet or Chromebook. Plus, Google has promised that the Chromebook Duet will get 8-years of Chrome OS updates, which is unfathomable to really think about.

While the Duet packs a pretty solid punch, we would have liked to see Lenovo include another USB-C port so you can connect this to a display while charging it. There's also no headphone jack built-in, so you'll need to go Bluetooth or bust for your audio playback needs. And as for that keyboard cover, it gets the job done, but it won't win any awards and you'll want to keep a cleaning cloth nearby.

Pros:

  • More than 12 hours of battery life
  • Up to 128GB of storage
  • Chrome OS on a tablet
  • 8 years of promised Chrome OS updates
Cons:

  • No headphone jack
  • A single USB-C port
  • Keyboard cover is not the greatest

4. Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5: Best Value

Announced alongside the Chromebook Duet at CES 2020, the Chromebook Flex 5 has largely been relegated to the shadows. However, it should not be looked over anymore with its impressive spec-sheet and performance. Under the hood you'll get up to the 10th-gen Intel Core i5 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and up to a 128GB SSD.

While there are a few Chromebooks that include stylus support, not all of them do and that's where the Chromebook Flex 5 excels. You'll get a 360-degree convertible display, narrow bezels, and digital stylus support, all in a sleek package that is sure to help you get some work done.

Over the lifespan of the Flex 5, you may run into some performance bottle-necking with the 4GB of RAM. This is to be expected considering the lower RAM amount, but still disappointing nonetheless. And those who want to take advantage of the Digital Pen support will have to come out of pocket for the stylus separately.

Pros:

  • Convertible Design
  • Digital Pen Support

    and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life
Cons:

  • 4GB of RAM may feel bottlenecked
  • Digital Pen available separately

5. Lenovo Chromebook S330: Best for Starters

The Lenovo Chromebook S330 won't win any style awards, outside of having a sleek design. But where it falls short in style points and versatility, it makes up for by being just a solid Chromebook for starters and Chrome OS veterans alike.

You'll get more than 10 hours of battery life, along with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage. As for ports, you'll get a USB-C and USB-A port, along with a microSD card slot and an HDMI input. Those who enjoy the Bluetooth lifestyle for peripherals will need to keep an eye on compatibility as the S330 is only equipped with Bluetooth 4.0. This shouldn't be a problem for most, but newer peripherals may be affected.

Another great aspect of the S330 from Lenovo is the fact that it is eligible for updates until June of 2023. This is fantastic considering the starting price and that the S330 has been available for some time now. If you just want a Chromebook to see what Chrome OS is all about, the S330 is a great way to do so.

Pros:

  • Great for starters
  • Up to 12 hours of battery life
  • Ultra-portable
  • Bright display
Cons:

  • MediaTek chipset not powerful
  • Shorter update window
  • Display is not 1080p

Get the job done for years to come

If you want to get started with Chrome OS, there's no better way than with the Lenovo Chromebook S330.

Bottom line

Lenovo has been expanding its line of Chromebooks on a regular basis, giving the users a slew of different options to choose from. And with guaranteed updates, this makes even older Chromebooks still relevant in today's world. But regardless of what you are trying to do, it's tough to look past the

The C340 sports a combination of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, along with a convertible, touchscreen display. The N4000 processor may feel a bit sluggish at times, but those times will be few and far between. There's even an integrated graphics card along with two USB 3.1 USB-C ports on either side. In fact, it's one of the
