Login credentials for hundreds of accounts have reportedly been posted online, and many of those users have stated their accounts for the streaming music service have been breached.
According to , the accounts were posted on PasteBin and include emails and login info for accounts, along with the type of Spotify account and more. However, a spokesperson for the company claims it has not been hit by a cyberattack:
"Spotify has not been hacked and our user records are secure. We monitor Pastebin and other sites regularly. When we find Spotify credentials, we first verify that they are authentic, and if they are, we immediately notify affected users to change their passwords."
It's more than possible that these accounts were breached via social engineering techniques, rather than from a cyberattack.
