It probably won't cost this much, don't worry.

- A few days ago, a listing popped up on Amazon for around $750, but this as confirmed to be an error.
- Now a preorder page has appeared on Play Asia for $700, but this could also be an error.
A few days ago Amazon seemingly of the , but judging by how much it was — £600, or roughly $750 United States dollars — people quickly wrote it off as an error. It was later was to be a mistake as some had thought. Now a preorder listing has gone up on Play Asia for a similarly ludicrous price.
Spotted by on Twitter, Play Asia . Before you worry too much, remember that this is probably a placeholder and not indicative of the actual price of the console. It wouldn't be the first time a mistake like this has been made.
The PS5 is sure to be expensive, but a $700 price point many would argue is suicide. Even $600 is pushing what some people would be comfortable spending on a brand new console, though I think that's a much more realistic price given the hardware involved. Most people are expecting, or at least hoping, for a $500 price point.
Sony recently said that it may not be the cheapest console on the market, seemingly implying that we shouldn't be surprised if it cost more than Microsoft's Xbox Series X. Neither company has confirmed a price point for their respective consoles, which are set to release this holiday despite the global pandemic.
Whatever the final price of the PS5 ends up being, I know I can speak for a lot of people when I say our wallets are about to feel a lot lighter in the coming months.
