Surprise releases are always the most fun, no? Retro City Rampage DX [] coming to iOS certainly qualifies, as there was no word that it was coming to iOS, development of the game seemed to cease after it released on PC (Windows AND MS-DOS), Mac, Linux, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, unreleased versions for DS and PSP, and even prototypes for NES and Windows 3.1, with Shakedown Hawaii in the works as well. But no, an iOS version has suddenly appeared on the App Store:

And the good news is that while the game has touch controls – and there's sure to be parts that prove to be difficult with them, but controller support is here as well, so you get the same experience as every other version. The only thing missing appears to be Apple TV support, but hey, you can't always get what you want. This is $4.99, though, so, bargain!
