Samsung sells a very affordable virtual reality headset. It has literally been handing to customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge, and there were for the new handsets. It certainly wants to sell as many Gear VR units as possible but it also appears to be interested in giving people without a headset a taste of VR so that they can ultimately decide to put money down for . That’s why the company has released the Milk VR app on the Google Play Store.
Through this app, anybody can watch the VR content that Samsung offers through the headset. The app allows users to get a sense of the VR experience as it lets them look around the video by simply panning their handset. Interactive videos that require access to the Gear VR’s touchpad can’t be viewed using the Milk VR app. Keep in mind though that the Milk VR app is only compatible with the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+, the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge. It can’t be installed on Android handsets from other manufacturers. It’s available as a free from the Google Play Store.
