The Siemens Digital Industries Software development team is pleased to announce the availability of NX 1919 Build 3102 (NX 1899 Series) is a flexible and powerful integrated solution that helps you deliver better products faster and more efficiently. NX series delivers the next generation of design, simulation, and manufacturing solutions that enable companies to realize the value of the digital twin.

1919.3102 Updates - ENHANCEMENTS

Please see below for a list of enhancements included in this release:

- ER9636800 - Sort the planes according to the maximum readability compared to the view normal
- ER9514726 - No longer able to modify specific NX functionality/settings on site level
- ER9653044 - Add palettes to NX18XX out of default NX
- ER9672527 - Administration options for UserPreferences.txt

Line Designer: Connectors and Kinematic components

Sharing connectors and kinematic components in NX managed and native mode

Once you export a plant layout with constraints, attachments, connectors, mounts, and kinematic components to NX native mode, then in NX native you can:

- Import and load the plant layout data and see it in Line Designer for further design.
- View, create, and remove the constraints, attachments, connectors, and mounts of the plant layout, and save. Also use joint jog and pose editor options to create new poses and save.

Now you can import the updated plant layout from NX native to NX managed mode with constraints, attachments, connectors, mounts, and kinematic components using only the Import Manufacturing Assembly into Teamcenter command. This helps you update the plant layout in NX managed mode and share the connection and kinematic components information in Teamcenter.

In NX managed mode, you can now import the Line Designer plant layouts with the updated connections and the kinematic components. Thus, you can share the updated layout information with other users in NX managed mode and across several applications.

Technical documentation

Using connectors and kinematic components in NX native and managed mode

Connectors and connections
In NX native, you can now work with a plant layout containing components that haveassembly constraints, attachments, connectors, and mounts. You can:

- View the connections and connectors and identify which one you want to realign in an assembly.
- Create new assembly constraints and connectors to connect the components.
- Remove the unnecessary connectors, connections, and constraints to stabilize the assembly.

After you update the plant layout in NX native, you can now import the manufacturing assembly with the constraints, attachments, connectors, and mounts into Teamcenter using only the Import Manufacturing Assembly into Teamcentercommand. This helps you share the updated assembly information with other users in NX managed mode and share the connection information across various applications.

Kinematic Components

In NX native, when you work in a plant layout containing the kinematic components, you can:

- Use the kinematic of the components to identify the kinematic resources, and to author kinematics, jog the joints, and create different poses for the kinematic links.
- Define the actual positions of the components, such as robots, stations, tools, and so on. This helps you to identify robot reach and to jog the components to logical positions.

After you update the plant layout in NX native, next you can import the manufacturing assembly with the updates to kinematic components into Teamcenter using only the Import Manufacturing Assembly into Teamcentercommand. This helps you share the kinematics across various applications.

KIA: Support Continuous Release Auto-test Application

Automated Testing Studio

Use the Automated Testing Studio application to record your workflows and to convert them to test cases in NX. When you record test cases, you can create check points by inserting customized validation checks at multiple points. Later, you can run the recorded test cases against a new version of NX to validate your workflows in the NX release that is available for deployment.

Example: You can record a test case for a workflow to create a part, save it, and export it. When you record the test case you can insert a customized validation check to verify if all the part attributes that are required by your organizationwhen you export a part exist in the part. Next, you can run this test case in the current release of NX, check if the validation check passes or fails, and save the result. When the next NX release is available for deployment, you use the test case to compare that release with the release that is currently deployed and create a report that compares the two releases. This helps you verify if your workflow provides the same result in the new version of NXand investigate any discrepancies.

Use these commands to reduce the testing effort that is required to validate your workflows in the new NX release that is available for deployment.

Siemens NX software is a flexible and powerful integrated solution that helps you deliver better products faster and more efficiently. NX delivers the next generation of design, simulation, and manufacturing solutions that enable companies to realize the value of the digital twin.

Supporting every aspect of product development, from concept design through engineering and manufacturing, NX gives you an integrated toolset that coordinates disciplines, preserves data integrity and design intent, and streamlines the entire process.

Siemens become the first major CAD/CAM/CAE vendor to deliver its software using Continuous Release methodology in January 2019. The new Continuous Release process significantly reduce the time between the proposal of a new enhancement, and its deployment to the end users. Customers will now have the opportunity to deploy the latest NX productivity enhancements more quickly in their production environment which helps them become more productive when using NX. In addition the Continuous Release will also reduce deployment costs for incremental updates.

Adopting a continuous release strategy also allows both Siemens NX and our customers to be more responsive to new ideas and trends in technology, once again allowing our customers to stay ahead of their competition.
