So, a quiet week in gaming. No highly anticipated releases to speak of, really… oh, except for a modest sci-fi game some small UK team has been making… what was it called again?
Yes, it’s a been a week dominated by the mouth-watering possibilities of 18 quintillion planets and a universe commanded into existence by the magic of pure mathematics. While many of you will have spent the week packing your pockets with plutonium and scooting between star systems, we’ve been watching the skies keenly for news from all across the gaming galaxy.

Fred: “I snagged subterranean side-scroller in the PlayStation Store Summer Sale to see if it still stands up after all these years. The odd bit of shonky dialogue notwithstanding, it absolutely does.”
Corey: “Well, I’ve got my copy of No Man’s Sky and now I’m ‘soaring through all the galaxies in search of Earth, flying into the night/fighting evil and tyranny with all my power and with all of my might’. Yes, I am a child of the very late ’70s for those who get that reference.”

Matt: “I took this month’s PS Plus offering for a spin and it’s sucked me in. Imagine, if you will, the kind of naval combat that made Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s pirating shenanigans so much fun and then add some moody guitar chops courtesy of Blue Saraceno. Great stuff.”

Geralt of Rivia gets his very own Game of the Year edition, bringing together the base game, all the additional DLC and the two enormous Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. With literally hundreds of hours of content, it might just be the biggest RPG to ever appear on console.
