In a nutshell, The Room series of games involve solving elaborate puzzle boxes. The first game basically focused on a single box to solve, but two games later in the trilogy the game has evolved into what feels like a full-blown adventure game crossed with a puzzle game. Instead of one "main" puzzle box, you're constantly moving around, shifting between puzzles, and revealing the story. Hell, the whole series is worth playing, and the cool part is I don't really think it matters what order you play them in.
