Twitter has long allowed users to send pictures via direct messages by tapping a camera icon next to the text box. However, users will now be able to use that button to record and send private videos back and forth, much like Facebook Messenger or Google Hangouts.

This comes shortly after Twitter announced a that allows users to search for GIFs from Giphy and Riffsy before adding them to a tweet or direct message.
