Google Play's year-end awards are getting interactive this year!
Google Play has given out at the end of the year for the most-streamed songs, the most-purchased movies, and the best apps from a variety of categories. This year, however, Google is adding new categories to the Best App, Best Game, and Best Movie categories: Fan Favorite.
Voting is now open on the Google Play Store, and will remain open for the next two weeks. Results of the voting will be announced a week after the voting closes on December 3.
looks to have some stiff competition among the 20 nominees this year. The is in the running, along with digital movie manager , , and podcast player , which you may remember from Google Play's Best of 2017 roundup. There are some oddities in here, as well, like and dating app .
is chock full of big-name titles, too. I have a sneaking suspicion it's going to come down to and , but you can't rule out , , or .
And then there's , and — oooooooh, boy, that's a whole lot of fun movies to choose from. It's nice to see some smaller films like and Mr. Rogers documentary in here, and with a 20-movie ballot with nearly every major genre and ratings category represented, there's really no telling which of the five superhero movies here is coming out on top. My money's on .
