According to , the WhatsApp Channels notification system was spotted in the app beta v2.23.12.20. This version of the app is available on the Google Play Store. However, you need to be enrolled in the beta program to get it. Do note that the feature is still under testing and isn’t available to beta testers.
WABetaInfo notes that tapping on the Channels-related pop-up menu will sign you up for the notifications and will alert you when the feature is available for you. In case you aren’t excited about Channels, you can select the Dismiss option.
