Those looking forward to the impending launch of Xiaomi's highly anticipated Mi 5 flagship may now have a date to look forward to: February 24. In a post on Weibo, company co-founder Li Wanqiang announced that Xiaomi is preparing to hold an event on February 24, where it's likely we'll see the Mi 5 shown off in official capacity. This follows Xiaomi's previous statements that the official launch would after the Chinese New Year.
As far as specs are concerned, the Mi 5 has only been confirmed to sport a Snapdragon 820 processor. Rumors and leaks further suggest that the Mi 5 will feature a metal body with a fingerprint scanner embedded in a home button on the front. The smartphone is also said to carry a 5.2-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal storage.
