Xiaomi is kicking off a promotion that sees most of its handsets discounted on Amazon India. The 16GB Mi 4 — which usually retails for ₹14,999 ($220) — is now available for ₹12,999 ($190). The 16GB Mi 4i is also seeing a ₹2,000 price cut, and is now on sale for just ₹9,999 ($145).
The Redmi Note Prime is getting a permanent price cut, and will now be available for ₹7,999 ($115). Xiaomi's handsets have been exclusive to Flipkart for a nearly a year and a half, with the vendor deciding to sell its wares on its own websites as well as Amazon and Snapdeal late last year. The promotion is likely aimed at letting users know that Xiaomi's phones are available via Amazon, as the retailer made a video to highlight the sale:
As for the devices themselves, the Mi 4 is getting a bit long in the tooth, with the phone unveiled in July 2014. Xiaomi's all set to launch the next week at , with the handset rumored to offer the Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, and a QHD display. The Mi 4i, meanwhile, offers great value for money, with a 5-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 615, 2GB of RAM, 13MP camera and 3120mAh battery for under ₹10,000.
