Altair HyperWorks Desktop 2019 New Features:

Append entity attributes to Model Browser
Append the entity attributes associated with components, properties, and materials to thebrowser as column data to facilitate fast and efficient review, editing, sorting, and filtering.Columns can be reorganized by dragging them to the desired position.Entity attributes can be filtered in their respective columns when in the Include, Component,Material, Property, and Assembly views.
Assembly view in Model Browser
Quickly view an isolated list of all the assemblies in your model using the new Assembly view inthe Model Browser.
Metadata in Entity Editor
A new section has been added to the Entity Editor to allow for easy review and editing ofmetadata. This is available for all entity types, and is also supported for appending as columndata in relevant browser views.

Altair HyperWorks Solvers 2019 New Features & Highlights:

Altair OptiStruct 2019 Highlights
- Nonlinear Axisymmetric Analysis (Elasto-plasticity and large displacement nonlinearity)
- Combination Joints via JOINTG
- Static Analysis for Rotor Dynamics
- Mode Tracking and Rotor Energy output from Rotor Dynamics with Complex Eigenvalue Analysis
- Symbolic Substitution
- New Free-shape optimization(GRID-based) - Beta version
◦ Allow the nodes to move normal to shell plane
◦ More flexible shape changes than the classical free-shape method
◦ Support for both shells and solids
- Multi-Model Optimization (MMO) enhancement:
◦ DGLOBAL with MMO
Altair Radioss 2019 Highlights
Radioss version 2019 offers a new multi-material for Arbritrary Lagrangian and Eulerian (ALE)applications. This material is compatible with all Equation of State (EOS), any fluid ALE material and canbe used with brick or linear tetrahedron elements. This material uses a new Finite Volume Method solverwhich is simple to use, faster, more accurate and ensures energy conservation. The necessary boundaryconditions, fluid structure contact interfaces and initialization options are available for this material law. This material is available for 2D axisymmetric and planar analysis with 3 node or 4 node solid elements. Also, new options are available to map results from 1D or 2D to 2D or 3D models for this new multi-material /MAT/LAW151.
Under water explosion (UNDEX) can now be computed using the Boundary Element Method (BEM). Thisoption allows to compute quickly, without a fluid mesh, the pressure field on a wet surface structuresubject to a far-field underwater explosion.
A new material based on the Barlat YLD2000 formulation is available for solid elements.
A new failure model with X-FEM for windshields based on the Christian Alter formulation is nowavailable for shell elements. This material improves the accuracy of modeling failure in windshields.
Submodels can be defined inside other submodels and more options can be used in a submodel.
Altair MotionSolve 2019 Highlights
Optimization and design capabilities that allow you to synthesize and optimize mechanisms, andconduct design studies. The core solver in MotionSolve now supports the calculation of designsensitivities that can be used to run optimization studies directly, without invoking other software.
Altair HyperXtrude 2019 New Features

Metal Extrusion

- Bearing Region Choke and Relief
In order to study the effect of different choke and relief angles, both the solver and the interfacesare enhance to apply choke and relief on a model meshed with parallel bearing. User can specifythe choke length, choke angle, relief length, and relief angle. This value will be applied in thebearing friction module even though the geometry has no choke or relief in the CAD data.
- Automatic Report Generation
Solver will automatically create a report for profile nosecone analysis. The report generator hasan expert system that captures the knowledge we gained over several years helping customersanalyze and optimize extrusion dies. The most important feature here is the flow network diagramthat is used to explain material flow and heat transfer through different sections. This report is inPDF format. This explains different aspects of the die, how the material flows during extrusion andits influence on extrusion load, temperature changes, flow imbalance, and productivity.

Polymer Extrusion

- Residence Time
Solver computes residence time from the flow field. It is enhanced to account for dead zonesand dead elements (elements with all nodes on wall) and help the user to visualize this resultcorrectly.

Altair HyperWorks CFD Solvers 2019 Highlights

Altair AcuSolve 2019 Highlights
AcuSolve v2019 brings a new radiation model, two new functions to improve user workflow and newHyperMesh based tutorials. In addition, Parasolid geometry compatibility between AcuConsole and otherAltair tools has been improved.
- Discrete ordinate radiation model: Provides means to simulate radiation through participatingmedia while accounting for directional effects.
- Automatic wall treatment: Streamlines the process of general model setup.
- Thermal shell command: Improves the process of defining thermal shell element sets.
- Geometry compatibility: Parasolid output from Inspire and HyperMesh (minimum version 21.0)readable by AcuConsole.
Altair nanoFluidX 2019 Highlights
nanoFluidX is a software to simulate single- and multi-phase flows based on the Lagrangian ParticleMethod "Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics" (SPH) and is developed and maintained by AltairEngineering. The purpose of this code is to simulate complex flows that are difficult or infeasible to handle usingclassical CFD approaches such as Finite Volume Methods. The main advantages of SPH are theconservation of mass and momentum (linear and angular) in the absence of physical dissipatione.g. due to viscous shear effects and the exact advection of the particles. As a consequence, SPH isvery powerful in dealing with free-surface flows as well as multi-phase flows with complex physicalphenomena such as surface-tension or interfacial transport processes. Highlights:
- SPH weakly compressible code.
- Unique numerical solutions bringing unprecedented accuracy among industrial SPH codes.
- Free-surface and high-deformation fluid flows.
- Meshless approach, leading to simplified pre-processing.
- Multi-phase flows.
- Aeration-viscosity models.
- Temperature equation and viscosity-temperature dependence models.
- Surface tension models.
- Adhesion models for fluid-solid contacts.
- Defined motion of solid bodies.
- Passive rigid body motion (as in fluid-rigid body momentum exchange).
- Created and optimized for use on clusters of Graphical Processing Units (GPUs), making itextremely fast.
