These are no longer phones that we're regularly talking about and recommending, but they do stand out as very important (and excellent) entries in Samsung's history.

Samsung has an extensive retail network for its flagship phones, and that means you don't have to look hard to find a place where you can buy any of the Galaxy S10s. Even almost two years after release, it's still pretty easy to find and purchase the Galaxy S10 and S10+ (unfortunately, the S10e is pretty hard to come by these days).
Even better, the Galaxy S10 series is considerably more affordable today than when it launched. The regular S10 is often and the S10+ can frequently be had for .
While those are great prices, we think most folks are better off with one of the currently available.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 series was announced on February 20, 2019, and launched a couple of weeks later, on March 8. Samsung gave us a trio of phones under this branding, including the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e. We also saw some offshoots with the Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy S10 Lite, but that initial trio is what we're focusing on here.
The S10 series came in as a direct follow-up to the , both of which were widely regarded as two of the best phones of 2018. They weren't all that revolutionary compared to the before them, but they took that same formula and basically perfected it.
With the Galaxy S10 lineup, Samsung took a few more risks than we saw with the S9. The S10 introduced things like an in-screen fingerprint sensor for the first time, a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera, and slimmer bezels all around. Even by 2020 standards, the entire S10 family still holds up rather well from a looks perspective.
Well, mostly. The Galaxy S10 was the last major Galaxy S to ship with a 3.5mm headphone jack, with the S20 series getting rid of the iconic port a year later.
Thanks to a combination of gorgeous hardware, powerful internals, and robust software, all three models of the Galaxy S10 went on to be some of our top recommendations of 2019.
While they aren't phones we actively recommend in 2020, all three versions of the Galaxy S10 were top-tier for their time. No matter if you got the lowest-end Galaxy S10e, went all-out with the Galaxy S10+, or stayed right in the middle with the regular S10, there was something for everyone.
When , we said it was a "nearly complete Galaxy S10 experience in a smaller, less expensive package." While you did give up some battery life and lost out on a telephoto camera, the rest of the phone was fantastic in every way. It had a flagship Snapdragon processor, a gorgeous AMOLED display, and a genuinely compact size that was a breath of fresh air compared to the endless large smartphone options it was competing against.
If you were OK spending a bit more money and wanted a larger handset, the regular Galaxy S10+ proved to be an easy recommendation. We happily gave it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars , going as far as to say that it was "the best-ever Galaxy S." The Galaxy S10+ doesn't feel all that out of place when stacked side-by-side with 2020 flagships, and that's a testament to how damn good of a phone it really was (and still is). Even when , we came away impressed with just how well it was aging.
The Galaxy S10 shipped with Android 9.0 Pie, and as of December 2020, it's running Android 10. If you're still holding onto your S10, you can even look forward to an Android 11 update at some point in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future.

If you don't need a new phone this very minute and are OK waiting a little longer, you could also hold out for the upcoming . Even though it seems like the S20 just came out yesterday, we're preparing for the S21 to make its grand debut at some point in January 2021.
