The Discover Tab was originally introduced in the

as a replacement for the Limited Time Mode menu, merging with existing features to create one place to create, share Island codes, visit your library and discover new games within Fortnite. Since the tab was added, a large amount of players have expressed how confusing the new layout is, with Fortnite's core game modes hard to find among the unorganised collection of Creative Maps.

Some Creative map builders even published empty islands to test how bad the Discover Tab's automatic recommendations are, with each map they published making their way to the top row for some players.

Even xQc, one of Twitch's biggest streamers, explained how the current layout for finding a match play through to Discover Tab is too complicated.

The new discover menu is not good.. It's too clustered and the horizontal scroll is just not it. I get that it's new and Epic are collecting opinions, I just hope it gets improved fast. Here's even xqc's opinion as someone who plays the game occasionally:

Fortnite's Response

Fortnite developer FreightTrain responded to the backlash received over the Discover Tab and promised that Epic is currently "making and testing changes" for a solution.

This was posted in the "Epic Announcements" channel in the official Fortnite Creative Discord Server:

"We've heard you loud and clear that Discover is not meeting the needs of either players or creators. We agree. Discover is new, and far from done. While we are figuring out how to make the best player experience and provide an awesome place for creators, you will see us making and testing changes. You will see us expand and tighten up on some of our Creator Rules and Guidelines, and experiment with different ways to surface content. As we make these changes we'll be doing this together. Our intent is to connect players to a variety of quality content, and enable creators to make the next hit experience. We want to be surfacing quality content. We don’t always want to be the deciders of what’s good or quality. Hopefully that’s a vision we can all work on together. It’ll never be perfect, we promise to iterate, and take your feedback into account as we do."
