Rumours of a Fortnite collaboration with Spider-Man have been popular since Season 4 of Chapter 2, when the Spider-Man icon was used for some Legacy achievements. Since Season 4 was Marvel-themed, a Spider-Man Outfit was expected to arrive in the Item Shop before it ended, however, as of Season 8 this is still yet to happen.

Many of Fortnite's collaborations are timed with a big release for the character and with the 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' movie hitting theatres on December 17, fans are predicting that a collaboration could be coming very soon. Season 8 of Fortnite is currently set to end on December 5, making it possible for Spider-Man to even be in the next Battle Pass.
According to leaker , Fortnite is currently working on a new item based on swinging mechanics codenamed 'WestSausage'. The codename has been theorised to mean 'Web Slinger', which makes sense because it follows Fortnite's system for codenames.

HYPEX also revealed that players using the Web Slinger item will be able to attach to vehicles and slide behind them if in they're motion.
