The Galaxy A16 5G will get six major Android OS upgrades and all the One UI versions in between. That's just one fewer Android OS upgrade than what the flagships get, and it is super impressive. Samsung will also provide security updates for six years.

Considering the affordable nature of the Galaxy A1x lineup of phones, if the A16 5G is eligible for six years of updates, we can safely assume that will be the case for most mid-range Samsung phones launching in the future. Costlier mid-rangers, like those in the Galaxy A5x lineup, might even get updates for seven years, though that is speculation until Samsung confirms it.
