Gemini could integrate deeply with Samsung's stock apps

Gemini could soon integrate with Samsung's stock apps that come pre-installed on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The AndroidAuthority

These clues were found by digging into the code of the Samsung Reminders app. The app's code contains references to the com.android.extensions.appfunctions library, as well as the app_functions.xml file.

Further digging into the XML file revealed that Google's Gemini would be able to perform several functions through Samsung's stock apps. Those functions are listed below.

Samsung Clock

  • Create/delete/find/update/show alarms
  • Start/stop/rest stopwatch
  • Create/delete/find/update/show timers

Samsung Notes

  • Create/delete/find/update note folder
  • Create/delete/find/update/show notes

Samsung Reminder

  • Create/delete/find/update/show task categories
  • Create/delete/find/update/show tasks

Samsung Calendar

  • Create/delete/find/update/show events

Since these integrations and features appear to be tied to Android's App Functions feature, we will likely see them only with the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update some time next year. Until then, you can watch all the new features that come with the One UI 7.0 update in the video below.
