Samsung may stop offering free 100GB of Microsoft OneDrive storage to new customers who buy a Galaxy smartphone or tablet with OneDrive pre-installed, according to one of our sources. July 25 may have been the last day someone buying a Galaxy device for the first time would get the OneDrive offer, although Samsung seems to have sent no official notices on the matter, so the offer may still be in place and may be discontinued at a later date.
Samsung and Microsoft to bundle new Galaxy devices with the latter’s suite of productivity apps, including the three main Office apps (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and OneDrive. All flagships and most mid-range devices were included in the partnership, and every user was entitled to free 100GB of extended OneDrive storage for two years. Microsoft in April this year, and it seems the offer will cease to exist completely going forward.
If the July 25 discontinuation date is accurate, Microsoft is stopping its OneDrive storage offer right before the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Tab S6 are going to make their official debut. Samsung had also earlier this year, so it seems the Korean giant is no longer interested in the cloud side of things as far as storage is concerned, an odd move considering the company .
