The game is now divided into larger levels, where the camera follows Abe - and sometimes approaching or slightly deflecting to give the player a better view.
All the characters and decorations are now made in 3D - and look very impressive: on the walls of ancient temples you can see the smallest cracks; Arachnid paramytes and crab-like scrubs seem even more disgusting than before; Mines wink threateningly with red light bulbs, lasers twinkle, factory pipes gleam dimly.
With the appearance of New 'n' Tasty polished, the gameplay in the game has remained virtually unchanged. As before, Abe can not attack the enemies directly - instead, he adjusts the traps for them, throws grenades, makes them attack each other and even subordinates some of the opponents with telepathy. Towards the end of the adventure, the heroic Mudokon acquires a superpower capable of clearing the screen from mines and all adversaries in one fell swoop, but it is not used very often.
In other words, to pass the game will have to demonstrate not the skills of shooting, but observation, the ability to plan and patience. Mostly the last: in New 'n' Tasty, the hero dies with the same ease as in the original game, except that the checkpoints now come across a little more often.
