The new flagship series is and Samsung wants to let you know about it. The company has just published an Official Launch TV ad starring the new flagships, or rather the base Galaxy S21 model and its larger sibling, the . We suspect that the will get a separate TV ad with a higher focus on what makes it different from the rest of the pack.
Samsung’s new TV commercial for the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ mostly highlights the smartphones’ camera capabilities, with 8K video and related features being the main attractions. But the company also touches on storage and battery life, if only briefly, and we get the feeling that Samsung is exaggerating its claims.
Battery life isn’t exceptional, at least not on the base model, but we’ll talk more about that in our upcoming review. Likewise, storage options might be plenty — though there are actually only two plus the option of cloud storage — but without a microSD card slot, it all translates to a higher price tag for customers who don’t find 128GB to be enough. And ironically, it probably won’t be enough for anyone who wants to capture 8K videos.
At the end of the day, it’s just a TV commercial that’s mean to dazzle more than anything else, so we won’t hold it against Samsung too much. At least this time the company didn’t with a whiff of superiority. It’s as honest as a TV ad can be, so take it for what it is.
