Samsung, the world's biggest memory chip maker, has announced that its DRAM chips designed for automobiles have been qualified to be used in Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform.
The company is also working on next-generation memory chips for automobiles.
LPDDR4X DRAM memory chips, designed for automobiles, have received qualification from Qualcomm to be used in its platform. The memory chip can be used in premium Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
This qualification is a result of Samsung's long-term support to its partners with newer and innovative automotive semiconductor products, a stable supply chain, and enhanced support for ecosystem partners. The South Korean firm also announced that it is already working on the fastest LPDDR5 DRAM chips for the automotive market. It has the industry's highest data transfer speed of 9.6Gbps, which can be maintained even under extreme temperatures.
