that the paint on their phones is peeling off in some places. After receiving such complaints, Samsung has issued a statement, saying third-party charges are to blame for the issue.

markets. According to that statement, the problem is not due to a defect in the Galaxy Z Fold 6's paint job but due to third-party chargers. Samsung claims that a high-speed third-party charger that is not correctly grounded can affect the anodized finish of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, resulting in slight delamination of the paint.

Specifically, the South Korean firm says current leakage is to blame when holding the phone while using a third-party charger. It also claims Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) massagers powered by a phone can cause paint-related issues, as current leakage can affect the phone's anodization.

Samsung's notice repeatedly suggests that users should use the official Samsung charger or a Qi wireless charger from a reputable brand. If you remember, Samsung stopped shipping most of its mid-range and high-end phones with an official charger.

The story continues after our Galaxy Z Fold 6 review video below.

However, Samsung's mixed language has confused a lot of people. While it mostly talks about third-party wired chargers, it also mentions Qi wireless chargers, which is an entirely different charging method (electromagnetic induction). Moreover, such an issue never appeared on any other Samsung phone, so why is it only the Galaxy Z Fold 6 facing this paint peeling issue?

It is hard to say for sure what is causing the paint on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to peel off, but this is the first time Samsung has used a matte finish on its foldable phone. The company is defending itself, saying that all Samsung products undergo rigorous testing before they are released to the public.
