This fourth medal is transparent and made of recycled glass. On the side, it carries the “Open Always Wins” message.
Every athlete at the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will receive this glass medal from Samsung. Participants will also get a limited smartphone that is unavailable for purchase. It's made exclusively for Olympians.
For the first time in the history of the Olympics, athletes will be able to take their phones — specifically their Galaxy Z Flip — to the Olympic Games podium, where they will be allowed to capture and share selfies. However, it is unclear when the Open Always Wins glass medal will be given to participants.

The Olympic Edition has a gold color and carries Olympic and Paralympic symbols. It's also pre-loaded with a variety of apps and has a unique FlipSuit Case. But, once again, it's not for sale.
The Paris 2024 Olympics start on July 26 and end on August 11. The games will host approximately 10,500 Olympians. The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8 and will host an estimated 4,400 Paralympians.
