alongside the company's flagship OLED TV, the S95D. Back then, the S90D was launched in only three sizes: 55 inches, 65 inches, and 77 inches. Now, the S90D will also be available in 42-inch, 48-inch, and 83-inch variants. These sizes were displayed at Samsung's CES 2024 booth, but the company did not announce their launch back then.

. In terms of features and pricing, it is one step below the S90D.

Samsung launches S90D OLED TV in 42-inch, 48-inch, and 83-inch sizes

The 42-inch version of the S90D is priced at $1,400, reducing the entry barrier for Samsung OLED TVs. The 48-inch version costs $1,600, while the 83-inch S90D is sold for $5,400 in the US. You can buy the 48-inch and 83-inch versions from Samsung's website immediately, but you will have to wait until the end of this month to get the 42-inch version. Detailed prices are listed below.

  • 42-inch S90D (QN42S90DAFXZA): $1,400
  • 48-inch S90D (QN48S90DAFXZA): $1,600
  • 83-inch S90D (QN83S90DAFXZA): $5,400

Which OLED panels does the S90D TV use? LG OLED or Samsung QD-OLED?

Samsung isn't clearly stating which OLED panels are used in the 42-inch, 48-inch, and 83-inch versions of the S90D. However, on its website, Samsung has mentioned that the 42-inch and 48-inch versions of the S90D feature OLED HDR, while the 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch versions have Quantum OLED HDR+. The 83-inch version of the TV reportedly features OLED HDR+.

Author's Note: So, from that point mentioned on Samsung's website, it looks like the 42-inch and 48-inch versions of the S90D use LG Display's WRGB OLED Evo panel, while the 83-inch version could use LG Display's WRGB OLED MLA panel with higher brightness. The 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch versions of the S90D could use Samsung Display's
