STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition V22 Update 11 | 3.9 Gb

Bentley Systems Incorporated is pleased to announce the availability of STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition V22 Update 11 is the ultimate power tool for computerized structural engineering.

487585 Generic GUI Updates - The details of copyright displayed in the Help>About dialog, is now provided in a localised format.
487616 Documentation and Printing - The routine used to include the Steel Design Detail for a design to AISC 360-10 or AISC 360-05 in a User Report has been updated to catch a formatting issue which caused the routine to crash.
487631 The method used to process the CONSTATS and MATERIALS commands has been revised to improve handling blocks where a named property is associated with multiple material definitions.
487632 Generic GUI Updates - The method used to display profiles defined in the Indian cold formed steel database has been revised to make better use of properties included in the database.
487652 Analysis/Design Engine - The cross section capacity check performed in the Indian steel design of slender wide flange sections has been refined. The initial check is performed to clause 8.2.1.1. Then the capacity is calculated using cl 8.2.1.2 and 8.2.1.3. Cl 8.2.1.3 deals with high shear condition. If a member has high shear, only then capacity will be calculated using Cl: 9.2.2. Cl: 8.2.1.1 deals with webs susceptible to shear buckling. If the member is susceptible, then the shear area will be reduced. This member will then go on to check if High shear is applicable. For member with a slender web and non-slender flange, the area of the section is reduced irrespective of whether Cl: 8.2.1.1 is applicable. Then the high shear condition is checked and the capacity is found. (Note this was previously documented as a known issue)
487680 Analytical Workflow - The GUI handling of profiles defined in the Brazilian welded I (CS) table has been updated to allow these to be specified as other types of wide flange profile, i.e. they can now be defined as tee profiles and with cover plates. Note however, it is not supported as a double profile.
487687 The Editor, Viewer and Other Modules - The routine that manages the association of design envelopes with slabs in the Advanced Slab Design Workflow has been updated to ensure that as envelopes/slabs are edited, the association is correctly updated.
487700 Physical Model Workflow - The details of rigid floor diaphragms defined in the physical model are added into the STD data file in the correct location. However, when returning to the Analytical Workflow, the option to add Floor Diaphragm options from the Analysis and Design ribbon, resulted in the options being added in the incorrect location in the STD file. This has been corrected. Note however, that despite this being added in the Analytical Workflow, this will modify a command generated by the Physical workflow and should be monitored whilst updates to the Physical Model are introduced.
487717 Analysis/Design Engine - The engine has been updated to support the inclusion of UNIT commands defined inside the Reference Load Case commands.
487756 OpenSTAAD - The function to obtain a list of load cases included in any of the defined LOAD LIST commands, GetLoadCountInLoadList() has been updated to prevent the function from failing with runtime error 438.

488052 Post Processing Workflow - The details of the member slenderness checks reported in the Member Query dialog for a member designed to the Eurocode EN-1993-1-1has been updated to display in the correct cell of the displayed table. Note that his issue did not impact the design of the members in any way.
488055 Generic GUI Updates - The routine that creates/updates the *.STD command file has been updated to ensure that if a command such as STEEL TAKE OFF is specified with a group name rather than simple list of members, then the command includes the keyword LIST before the group name (which is identified starting with an underscore character, e.g. STEEL TAKE OFF LIST _GROUP1)
488062 Analysis/Design Engine - Models which have included the option to use a cracked concrete profile using the Indian code, IS1893-2016, as defined in the help topic TR.20.10 Member Property Reduction Factors, now accounts for the reduction in properties according to the code for dynamic load cases such as when a response spectrum loading is defined.

488082 Generic GUI Updates - The routine that parses a file when it is opened has been updated to better handle a situation where a member has been assigned multiple materials. Under certain situations this would result in rogue messages being reported. This has been addressed and now only a warning message is reported on those members stating that the values of the last assigned material will be used.
488091 Validation checks has been introduced to restrict input of negative factor under SRSS load combination.
488095 Post Processing Workflow - The display of a moving load vehicle has been updated to ensure that the location of the defined vehicle is included as well as the loads as was provided in the earlier V8i versions.
488097 Analytical Workflow - The display of trapezoidal pressure loads on plates has been updated to ensure that if the pressure on either side of the plate is defined with the same magnitude (i.e. defining a constant pressure across the plate), then the direction in which the pressure is displayed remains in the applied direction rather than the direction in which the load would vary. Note that this issue did not affect the analysis, it was purely an issue in the display routine.
488103 Generic GUI Updates - The Node Query dialog has been updated to ensure that when the Load information is displayed is displayed by clicking on the Load button, the data that is displayed is consistent with the current displayed load case.

488290 Post Processing Workflow - The member stress view for members defined as tapered wide flange (Tapered-I) has been updated to better display the location of the four corner stress points depending where the section cut is located. Additionally, the member query elevation view accounts for the way the section profile changes. However, please note that the correct definition of a taper is that the depth of section at start node should be greater than the depth of section at end node. If necessary the member should be defined with the nodes reversed. Refer to the help topic, TR.20.3 Tapered Member Specification.
488291 Analytical Workflow - The dialog that is displayed when editing a section profile that has been specified with the 'Define.' option in the Properties dialog box has been updated to ensure that the associated material is displayed. Previously the dialog would be displayed with the default 'steel' material.
488292 Generic GUI Updates - The rendering of tapered members both in the Structure Diagrams and 3D Rendered View has been updated to better account for the relative position relative to its centroidal axis.
488297 Analytical Workflow - The routine used to define a uniformly distributed member weight as part of a seismic definition has been updated to ensure that if the starting position of the load is set at 0.0, this value is inserted into the command file. Previously, a value of 0.0 would not be included and the command would be incomplete and result in an error when processed by the analysis.
488298 Generic GUI Updates - The routine used to control the display of a model being rotated by holding the right button and dragging has been updated. Note that the centre of rotation can be set as any node by clicking on the node whilst holding down the CTRL and Shift keys.

488344 The Editor, Viewer and Other Modules - The default values associated with each of the shapes provided with the Parametric Sections routine in the Section Wizard - FreeSketch app, have been updated such that they do not violate any of the conditional checks if a profile is created without changing any of these default values.
488362 Analytical Workflow - Whilst there is a specifically designed workflow for the creation and management of physical models, there is a routine in the analytical workflow that can create physical members to be used with a generic analytical model. The routine that allows the creation and deletion of these physical members in the analytical model has been updated to support the undo/redo actions. Note that this does not apply to the models that are created in the Physical Workflow, unless they have been dropped. Physical members created in the Physical Workflow are managed in that environment and cannot be edited in the Analytical Workflow. create and deleted physical member can execute redo and undo.
488364 Post Processing Workflow - The routine that displays a time history result plot has the option to display an average based on the results of a collection of nodes defined in a group which can be selected when the time history layout is first displayed. However, previously, this option displayed all groups rather than just node groups for which the routine is designed.
488366 Analytical Workflow - The routine that is provided to allow consecutive members to be merged into a single analytical member has been updated to ensure that if there is a defined release assigned to the start of the first member of the collection of members being merged, then that release is retained and assigned to the start of the final member that is the resultant of the merge process.
488369 Analytical Workflow - The Job Information provided in the Info section of the backstage has been updated to ensure that if a series of comments have been added or edited, then the edited list is saved with the model. Previously, whilst additional comments could be added, the GUI would not remove any comments that were deleted.
488372 Analytical Workflow - The option to save the data of the STAAD file in an expanded format can be set in the Configurations dialog. However, in doing so, the commands that assigned materials was being written without the MEMBER keyword before the member number. Now the correct syntax is generated for materials using the expanded list format.
488384 Analytical Workflow - The tool that allows a section of objects to be duplicated by mirroring in a specified plane has been updated such that if the option to Mirror Member Orientation is specified, if necessary a new beta angle is created and assigned to the new members. Note that this is designed for symmetrical sections. Where the member has an unsymmetrical profile such as an angle, additional work may be necessary to account for the change in shape that the mirror action should introduce.
488388 Generic GUI Updates - The method used to display a circular hollow tube section in the 3D rendered view that has been defined as a curved member has been updated so that it is displayed correctly.
488395 Analytical Workflow - The method used to merge a selection of beams has been updated to ensure that if one or more do not have a material assigned, the procedure still continues to check and assign any defined beta angle that has been specified from the various beta angles in the selected members.
488397 The inclined support definition dialog is modified to show the correct parameter settings when edited.
488412 Analytical Workflow - The routine that is used to manage loads on members which are sub-divided such as buy inserting nodes, has been updated to ensure that if any self-weight commands have been assigned to the original member in any load case, then that loading is applied to any new members that are created.
488413 General GUI Updates - The Properties sheet of a Member Query dialog has been updated to provide a better representation, and wall thickness of the cross section of circular hollow sections (pipes) defined in a User Provided Table, UPT.
488417 Generic GUI Updates - The Properties sheet in the Member Query dialog has been updated to display the property values using the format defined in the Options>Section Units dialog.
488421 Analytical Workflow - The method used to display loading has been updated to trap a situation which might occur if a load definition used in the current load case has been deleted. For example a wind definition used in the load case is deleted, then the display now identifies the definition as missing, but does not crash the program as would occur previously.
488430 The Editor, Viewer and Other Modules - The icons used to display a number of cold formed section profiles in the Section Database Manager have been updated to better reflect the profile shape associated with the selected table.
488434 Analysis/Design Engine - The routine used with designs of models with the alignment defined with SET Z UP to the Norwegian code NS3472 has been updated to remove excess lines that were being reported in the output file.
488438 Generic GUI Updates - The routine that is used to display the assigned material on the structural objects has been updated to correctly identify the material. Previously a simplified logic was used that could result in a simpler named material if such a material was included in the model.
488442 Interoperability - The routine that is used to import a model from a DXF file has been updated to improve the processing of plates which are defined with four nodes, but two nodes are identical. In such cases this should define a triangular plate and avoid having a duplicate node.

488447 Analysis/Design Engine - The US timber design to the AITC code has been updated to provide clarification that if a member has failed in slenderness, then the design checks will terminate. This means that if the other checks are performed, an even higher failure ratio may be achieved.
488450 OpenSTAAD - The function Property.SetMaterialID() previously documented is a non-operational function has been formally deprecated. The alternative function Property.SetMaterialName() should be used in its place.
488451 Analytical Workflow - The routine used in merging members has been modified to ensure that the local direction of the component members is taken into account when converting concentrated loads into loads on the new resulting member.
488453 Analytical Workflow - The Load& Definition dialog used to insert the Load Generation (i.e. to automatically create primary load cases of a defined vehicle), allows the inclusion of a pre-defined primary load case. Typically this is defined after all primary load cases, but if it has been inserted before the end of the primary load case definitions, then when editing it, the option to select a primary load case to include is filtered to only those cases already defined before the command in the file. Additionally the routine that is called when a load case is selected and deleted in the GUI has been updated to ensure that if the Load Generator is defined, that does not also get deleted.
488459 Analytical Workflow - The method used by the Load & Definition dialog to manage the definitions of load envelopes has been updated to ensure that if all load envelopes have been deleted, then the section text DEFINE ENVELOPE is also removed from the STD file when the file is saved.
488462 Analytical Workflow - The dialog used to specify a response spectrum to Eurocode 8 2004 specification has been updated to account for the different spectra that would be generated in the horizontal and vertical directions. That means that a definition using X and Z directions is supported, but not X and Y, nor Z and Y. To account for both horizontal and vertical spectra, two separate load cases, each defining one direction should be created and the results combined as needed.

488511 Analytical Workflow - The routine that is provided in the Member Query dialog to modify releases on a member has been updated to better handle models with a metric unit system. Previously, if the start or end release was defined with a spring, then if the releases were modified, the values of the spring were not being correctly written out to the file.
488513 Documentation and Printing - The routine used to export a User Report has been updated to better handle data in an output table 'Beam Maximum Relative Displacements' such that for any member, if there is no valid result for the value of Span/Max Z, typically caused by a member being rotated through 90 degrees and defined in a plane frame model, has a value of 0 reported. Previously this caused the export to misalign the data in the exported table which has now been rectified.
488521 Analytical Workflow - The dialog provided to enter the specifications of a cable analysis has been updated to better handle displaying the appropriate parameters needed in the case of a basic or advanced cable analysis.
510113 The Editor, Viewer and Other Modules - The routine used in the Section Builder module of the Section Wizard application that is used to export a profile into a STAAD User Provided Table (UPT) as a GENERAL profile has been updated to include the warping constant Iw, which is identified as the parameter HSS in the UPT. Note that this is only valid for single profiles, for built up profiles, this value should be specified manually.
542213 Analysis/Design Engine - The reporting output for Russian steel design per SNiP 2.23-81 has been updated to better capture a member which has slenderness as the controlling design criteria. Further, it is ensured that the clause reported in the member query dialog box is consistent with the clause producing the maximum effect reported in the ANL. It also includes a minor fix to properly print the bending checks which, in some cases, were missing from the ANL.

693658 Analysis/Design Engine - The design of members to the Indian steel code IS800:2007 uses a method to only use the values assigned to KY and KZ with a non p-delta analysis which was introduced in V22 Update 5. However, if the KG option was specified with the P-delta analysis, this method was not being used and the values assigned to KY and KZ were also being used. This has now been corrected and if the KG option has been set with the P-Delta analysis, the design will still use values of KY and KZ as 1.0 as with the other settings of the P-delta command.
698863 Analysis/Design Engine - The Russian steel design code per SP 16.13300:2011 has been updated to fix the reporting of deflection design results which were missing from the output file..
