The story is divided into 4 chapters. The main character of Unforeseen Incidents is called Harper Pendrell. He is a jack of all trades, but he lives in poverty, because he is irresponsible about everything and does not work anywhere. Events unfold in the United States around the end of the 20th century or the beginning of the 21st. One day, an epidemic of an unknown deadly disease, similar to the plague, occurs in this country. By chance, the fate of the entire state will depend on this man.
The electrical engineer will visit Yelltown and the city of Port Nikola, as well as visit the National Park and other places. He will be assisted by a journalist girl and an elderly scientist. The hero-loser has a Swiss knife with him, which he actively uses when solving riddles. The puzzles here are mostly logical. The difficulty of puzzles increases gradually. There's also a lot of dialogue here. When communicating with NPCs, you must choose the right lines. The game has a map that allows you to quickly move between locations.
