Google focused on its own line of Android phones for the Stadia launch but now there's support spreading to other phones. The most recent line of Samsung and a few others are now compatible as well. Google may add more phones in the future; Below is a full list of compatible phones.
All Stadia Compatible Android Phones
Currently Stadia on the entire Pixel line of phones and many modern Samsung phones as well. All you need then is an internet connection, a , a Stadia app, and you're theoretically good to go.
We don't know for sure if Stadia is coming to all other Android phones, but at the platform's release, the company said that a lot of devices are expected to work in the future. At Google's GDC 2019 keynote, company , "With Google, your games will be immediately discoverable by 2 billion people on a Chrome browser, Chromebook, Chromecast, Pixel device. And we have plans to support more browsers and platforms over time."
Though he did not mention other Android phones by name, it's within reason that any smartphone with a decent LTE or Wi-Fi connection should be able to use Stadia, lest Google shut out a large portion of the market. Plus, the addition of Samsung phones, and a few others, leaves us to hope more phones will be added in the coming year.
What about iPhones and iPads?
It's unclear right now if Stadia will be available on iPhones for play. While the Stadia app is available at the , for the moment this is only a way to manage Stadia on other devices. The future of Stadia on the iPhone is harder to guess than that of Android.
What about tablets?
At launch, Stadia is available on Chrome OS tablets such as the Pixel Slate. Google noted that Stadia will be available on "select phones and tablets." Again, these were not mentioned by name and the list can expand in the future as the phone list has, but we know that with Stadia running on Chrome OS, its possible to see this expand to other Google-branded tablets like the Nexus.
