Xiaomi has announced that the high-end version of the , with 128GB storage, Snapdragon 820, and 4GB of RAM, with cost RMB 2,699 in China. That comes out to an astounding $354 ($410 including 17 percent local taxes), about half the retail price of this year's flagships from other vendors.
The price of the 64GB is RMB 2299 ($350 (again including taxes)), and the base 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM will cost just RMB 1999 ($300). The 32GB model also has a lower-clocked 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820, with the 64GB and 128GB variants offering a 2.15GHz SoC.
The phone will be available in China starting March 1 via Xiaomi's website, and will make its way to India shortly thereafter. No word as yet as to when Xiaomi will make the device available in Western markets, with the vendor only stating that it will be "very soon."
