A week of epic adventure and high octane thrills awaits on PlayStation Store, from snow-encrusted mountains to the icy cold of the deep blue sea. Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy returns in the massive expansion The Frozen Wilds, while EA is looking for Payback in its latest Need for Speed sequel. Elsewhere Sonic is joined by a cast of your making, and you can oversea a battlefield of laser-firing fish in Ace of Seafood.
What a week, and that’s only our choice picks. As usual, you can get the full list of this week’s releases below.
1. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
Aloy’s adventure continues as the machine hunter heads north to an all-new, snow-covered region known as the Cut. Expect even your finely-honed skills to be tested as you encounter new mysteries and cross paths with one of Horizon Zero Dawn’s most dangerous machines, the Scorcher.
Ghost Games roars back onto the open road with its latest entry into the Need for Speed series. Explore Fortune Valley at breakneck speed as you battle cops and criminals in an event and spectacle heavy single player campaign, and challenge your friends’ best scores on the road – and off it.
Sonic Team takes the blue hedgehog through a new supersonic journey across 2D and 3D dimensions. But this time, alongside playing as the Modern and Classic versions of Sonic, you can join the fight against Eggman by creating your own character.
Wage war across a holographic board as chess-like strategy meets the futuristic battlefield. Pick your chosen unit to deploy, then pick it up and place it on the board to add another attacking force to your army as you try to take out your opponent’s base.
There are many experiences to savor on this list. But only one will allow you to control laser-firing aquatic life that battle it out amidst plastic warships. You’ll likely not play a game quite like Ace of Seafood this year. Or ever.
