For the uninitiated: Drive!Drive!Drive! is a racing game unlike any other, where players must drive their cars to victory across multiple tracks at the same time.
Sorry, what did you just read? Across multiple tracks? At the same time? Yes, that’s precisely what you just read. Unless of course you paused at the end of the previous paragraph to read a chapter of a novel, label a food jar, check out a road sign, etc. (sadly it’s beyond the scope of this blog post to document all the possible places that words can be read). Anyway the point is yes that is the essence of the game, and it’s a lot more manic, confusing and demonic than you could possibly imagine!
Drive!Drive!Drive has 100 tracks in its single player campaign, and all these tracks were made in the in-game track creator. You can do it easily too. Create a blueprint, duplicate it up to 4 times, spin the tracks around, smash them into each other, put them on different gravities – whatever you desire! Then share, rate, play them up to 4 player online multiplayer and so on. I could go on. Mercifully for you I won’t for much longer though.
One other thing I should definitely mention though is how amazing the audio is in the game: it features music by legendary post-rock-synth-prog-other-categories-of-music-here legends Zombi and complemented by amazing in game sounds by the incredible Stafford of Monument Valley fame. It literally gives the game a smashing atmosphere.
I can’t guarantee that you will love Drive!Drive!Drive! but what I can guarantee is that you have never played a driving game remotely like it. I can also guarantee your washing machine for a period of up to 2 years on expiry of manufacturing warranty, but that comes at an additional cost and frankly is a different conversation for a different time and place.
