Cadence Design Systems is pleased to announce the availability of Sigrity 3D-EM 2019 version 19.00.000. This release includes the 3D-EM engine and 3D Workbench executables that are not available in the Sigrity 2019 release media. This enables users of 3D-EM and 3D Workbench to use the 3D-EM and 3D Workbench executables from the Sigrity 2019 installation hierarchy.

The Cadence Sigrity PowerSI technology provides fast, accurate, and detailed electrical analysis of full IC packages or PCBs. It is cloud ready and can be used pre-layout to develop power- and signal-integrity guidelines, as well as post-layout to verify performance and improve a design without needing a prototype.
Using Sigrity PowerSI electromagnetic (EM) field solver technology, you can readily perform a broad range of studies to identify trace and via coupling issues, power/ground fluctuations caused by simultaneously switching outputs, and design regions that are under or over voltage targets. PowerSI technology also lets you perform extraction of frequency-dependent network parameter models and lets you visualize complex spatial relationships.
The Cadence Sigrity PowerSI 3D EM Extraction Option is three-dimensional (3D) full-wave and quasi-static electromagnetic field (EM) solver technology tailored for IC package and PCB design's S-parameter model extraction for power-integrity (PI) and signal-integrity (SI) analysis. It provides a much faster simulation speed than other popular 3D finite element analysis tools with model reduction technology. The adaptive finite element mesh (FEM) refinement technology provides consistent accuracy for complicated 3D structures. For time-domain transient analysis, a robust low-frequency conditioning algorithm provides stable and accurate solutions down to 100Hz. The PowerSI 3DEM option's workflow-driven user interface and automatic port generation makes the tool easy to use.
The technology Sigrity 3D Workbench included as part of the Sigrity PowerSI 3D EM Extraction Option (3DEM). This technology enables users to import mechanical structures, such as cables and connectors, and merge them with the PCB so critical 3D structures that cross from the board to the connector can be modeled and optimized as one structure. When integrated into the Cadence Allegro environment, this allows PCB design teams to optimize the high-speed interconnect of PCBs, IC packages, and connectors in the Sigrity tool and automatically implement the optimized PCB interconnect in Allegro without the need to redraw, providing a much more efficient and less error-prone solution compared to alternatives using third-party tools.
