Complete Anatomy
Male and female models you can layer and cut, for study sessions when a cadaver table is not available.
Building a screen you can revise
Sign in with an Elsevier account, open a male or female model, and stay in one view instead of flipping plates. Orbit with the pointer, zoom with the trackpad pinch documented for macOS, and reach frequent tools from keyboard shortcuts. Twelve body systems show or hide as layers. The cut tool sections the model in a chosen direction. Nerve and blood-supply tracers follow branches, while origin, insertion, bone-surface, and landmark maps sit on the same body. A beating, dissectible heart is included in that set. Save the view as a screen in the library so the next session resumes that pose.
Search is the fast path: type a muscle or vessel, isolate it, then restore neighbors one structure at a time. That sequence matches a lab practical and a quick self-check before a textbook plate. A useful screen keeps the target isolated, nearby relationships visible, and labels readable as you orbit.
Atlas plates, courses, and scans
The Mac App Store listing also describes more than 700 atlas screens based on Elsevier textbook illustrations, 39 microscopic models, and more than 1,500 clinical videos in cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dentistry, and fitness. Guided courses cover human anatomy, dissection, female anatomy presented by Alice Roberts, point-of-care ultrasound, and clinical correlates. Radiology can sit beside the 3D model; 2026 vendor notes describe more than 550 images with full-body coverage, so a scan plane lines up with the structure you isolated. A beta 3D brain from the previous store release adds a first gyrus map plus coronal, sagittal, and axial sections. Augmented reality, including multiuser AR, is listed for compatible devices; everyday Mac work stays on the on-screen model.
What the subscription actually buys
The download is free. Premium models, courses, and videos open on a three-day trial, then an annual plan billed through the Apple account unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. The US store lists student and student plus licenses at $74.99, and professional licenses at $99.99 and $119.99. The listing does not explain how Student Plus differs from Student, or why two professional prices exist. Student access includes 3D models across the vendor's platforms, all courses, the video library, and curated material. The professional license adds patient education in clinic and the right to present in a classroom, lab, or lecture theatre. Sharing a saved screen with a group is an educator-license feature. Support allows two signed-in devices per platform at the same time.
macOS 15 or later is required. Elsevier's hardware list starts at MacBook and MacBook Pro from 2017, iMac and iMac Pro from 2017, MacBook Air and Mac mini from 2018, and Mac Pro from 2019. The package is about 913 MB. The privacy label says name, email, and other contact details may be linked to you. Listed languages are English, French, German, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. Version 12.6.0, shown on the Mac App Store as 12.6, adds Brazilian Portuguese from the language dropdown under Preferences in Settings. It fits poorly as a one-time purchase, on a Mac that cannot run macOS 15, or for offline markup with no account.
Show full description Pros & Cons Show details
PROS[*]Layer isolation, the cut tool, and nerve and vessel tracers give a dissection path a flat plate cannot match.
[*]One annual subscription covers this Mac build and the vendor's other platforms, with two devices signed in per platform.
[*]Courses, 700-plus atlas screens, radiology beside the model, and 1,500-plus clinical videos share one library with the 3D body.
[*]Student and professional licenses split study access from patient-education and classroom presentation rights.
[*]Trackpad pinch-zoom and keyboard shortcuts are documented on the Mac build, so orbiting a region does not require a touchscreen.
[*]English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese ship in the store build, with Brazilian Portuguese added in this release.
CONS[*]Premium anatomy is an annual auto-renewing App Store subscription; the free download is only a three-day trial.
[*]macOS 15 or later is mandatory, and Elsevier's list excludes MacBook and iMac models before 2017, MacBook Air and Mac mini before 2018, and Mac Pro before 2019.
[*]A student license does not include clinical patient education or the right to teach in a classroom, lab, or lecture theatre.
[*]Saved screens cannot be shared with a classmate group on a student plan, because group sharing is reserved for educator licenses.
[*]An Elsevier account is required, and the privacy label lists name, email, and other contact info as data that may be linked to you.
[*]The 3D brain preview remains labeled Beta, so that gyrus map is not a finished neuro atlas yet.
