Epic Games Sues Hacker for Cheating in Fortnite Tournaments

Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against a player accused of cheating in major Fortnite Championship events.

According to an official statement from the Fortnite Competitive team, the player in question applied cheating software and hardware whilst also attempting to evade detection by using multiple accounts. Despite these efforts, Epic successfully identified the player's misconduct and have now taken the appropriate legal action.

This lawsuit demonstrates Epic's zero-tolerance stance on cheating, with the company emphasising, "Cheating has no place in Fortnite and we’re doing everything we can to stop it, including legal action". The announcement comes shortly after Epic outlined new measures aimed at improving the competitive experience, including enhanced systems to combat cheating.
