is mostly used in veterinary medicine to treat and manage gastrointestinal parasites in animals, including horses, dogs, cats, cattle, and rabbits. It is a member of the benzimidazole class of medications, which cause parasitic worms to die by interfering with their energy metabolism. Fenbendazole works well against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and several types of tapeworms, among other internal parasites. When used as prescribed, it is generally regarded as safe and is well tolerated by the majority of animals. Although further clinical study is required to demonstrate its effectiveness and safety in people, fenbendazole has recently drawn interest for its potential off-label usage in cancer research, specifically for its capacity to disrupt microtubule assembly in cancer cells. Regulatory bodies such as the FDA have not yet approved fenbendazole for use in humans, despite this interest. It is often taken orally over a few days and comes in a variety of forms, including pills, solutions, and granules.
