News Fortnite starts Downtime for v22.10 Update 11 hours early

Just 50 minutes after first announcing the v22.10 update, Epic Games has started server downtime for Fortnite eleven hours earlier than originally planned.

Epic says the reason for the incredibly long downtime is "due to an issue". This is set to be the longest server downtime Fortnite has experienced since the Black Hole, which ended after more than 37 hours.

Due to an issue, we are entering downtime early. Update 22.10 will still release tomorrow October 4th.
