A month ago, we that TurtleBlaze Games would be bringing their side-scrolling combat racer Intergalactic Road Warriors to mobile after last year. Since then, we've learned that Lucky Kat Studios, of Grumpy Cat's Worst Game Ever [] and Combo Critters [] fame, would be publishing the game on mobile, retitled as simply Road Warriors. Today at GDC, we were able to sit down with Lucky Kat to get a hands-on demo of Road Warriors on iPhone, and it's looking awesome so far.
Following this demo from the developer, I took Road Warriors for a spin myself and had a ton of fun. There's no shortage of these side-scrolling physics driving games on the App Store, and while fun, they've definitely grown a bit stale. Road Warriors brings a fresh feeling to the genre with its focus on combat with other racers and how it rewards your skilled trick racing with massive boosts. Plus the whole car upgrading system is really interesting, and even though it's early I can see this is going to be a fun game on mobile when it hits this June.
