Gemini will soon get Spotify and WhatsApp integration

Google is working on several third-party integrations for Gemini, two of which are Spotify and WhatsApp. According to a

, the beta version (15.40.31.29) of Gemini has hidden extensions for Google Messages, Spotify, and WhatsApp. While it can already send WhatsApp messages, it currently uses Google Assistant for that action.

As you can see in the screenshot above, Gemini will soon get a dedicated extension for WhatsApp. It will reportedly also learn which apps you use for sending messages and making calls. It also allows editing messages before they are sent. So, once you use the feature long enough, it will learn which apps you prefer for calling and chatting for each contact in your contact list.

The Google Messages extension for Gemini works the same way WhatsApp's extension does. You can send messages or edit them before sending them to your contacts (or an unsaved number). Weirdly, Gemini can't fetch messages from Google Messages yet, so you can't ask it to show you the last sent message to someone.

Spotify extension for Gemini has also been spotted once again. You can ask Google's AI assistant to play a particular track or album. It will show you the album art once it starts playing music, and you can tap it to go straight to the Spotify app on your device.

These extensions were enabled by tinkering with Gemini's APK file, and Google has not released any of them yet. It appears that Google is testing these extensions, and once the testing is done, it could release them to the public. The company could be working on more third-party extensions.

Once these new extensions are fully rolled out to Gemini, you can use them on your Galaxy smartphone and tablet. It isn't clear if they would also work the same way on Wear OS smartwatches like the recently released
