.

It's a step in the right direction, as Galaxy device users are no longer bound to a single app store and can now acquire Good Lock through either the Galaxy Store or Google Play.

But for Galaxy device users who might be wondering if this Google Play addition results in a wider availability for Good Lock, unfortunately, it does not.

Good Lock remains region-locked

Although Good Lock is now available through two app stores instead of one, as far as we can tell, Samsung hasn't changed anything about its region-locking policies.

Good Lock remains a region-locked platform available in select markets, and the platform's addition to the Play Store doesn't seem to improve availability. As of this writing, Good Lock is available in the following select markets:

  • Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK, and USA.

With Good Lock's addition to the Play Store, Samsung has made it easier to acquire the platform in markets where Good Lock is already available via the Galaxy Store. In time, Samsung may continue adding more countries to the availability list. However, the company has yet to show any concrete signs of wanting to lift region-locking from Good Lock altogether.

Demand for Good Lock is now higher than ever. Standard features

have been removed from One UI and ported to Good Lock, making them available only to some Galaxy device users. The option to run any app on the Galaxy Z Flip 5's cover screen is also locked behind the experimental app.
